Fiordland is one of the world’s last great wilderness areas. Today’s tour takes you past mirror lakes and waterfalls into Milford Sound, carved by glaciers during the ice age and often called the eighth wonder of the world. On arrival, board your cruise vessel to explore the fiord, surrounded by towering mountains and cliffs that drop straight into the sea. You may even feel the spray of a waterfall as you cruise past sheer rock faces. Afterward, relax on the coach ride back to downtown Queenstown with a lifetime of memories.

Today’s journey departs Queenstown through the stunning Kawarau Gorge and the fruit- and wine-growing region of Cromwell. You’ll follow the shores of Lake Dunstan and wind through the dramatic Lindis Pass, then cross the vast Mackenzie Basin alongside brilliant turquoise lakes framed by Aoraki/Mt. Cook and the Southern Alps, arriving in Mt. Cook Village with some free time to explore. It’s easy to see why so many Lord of the Rings scenes were filmed nearby. You’ll also stop near the popular Church of the Good Shepherd on the shores of Lake Tekapo before continuing through beautiful countryside to Christchurch.
