Kapiti Island is a highly significant nature reserve in New Zealand, renowned for its rich history and conservation efforts. You can begin your journey by taking a one-hour road trip from Wellington, accompanied by a knowledgeable driver guide who will point out the highlights along the way.

During the trip, you’ll get to enjoy the spectacular coastal scenery before finally taking a 20-minute ferry ride to Kapiti Island Marine Reserve. Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by an experienced nature guide who will take you on a one-hour guided walk to explore the flora and fauna of the island. You’ll be able to witness some of New Zealand’s most beautiful and endangered birds during the excursion.

As part of the experience, you’ll be served a light breakfast and cooked lunch, and you’ll also receive complimentary pick-up/drop-off services from your central Wellington accommodation.
