Crystal‑Clear Trout Springs

Paradise Valley Springs is famous for its rainbow and brown trout, thriving in pristine spring‑fed pools and the Ngongotahā Stream that winds through the park. Visitors can watch trout leaping in the water or view them at eye level in the Underwater Viewing Cave.

Native Birds & Walk‑Through Kea Aviary

Nature lovers can enjoy a wide range of native New Zealand birds, including the cheeky alpine parrot — the Kea — in a special walk‑through aviary. Wetlands throughout the park host ducks and waterfowl, creating a serene environment for birdwatching.

Taste Pure Spring Water

One of the park’s unique highlights is Te Waireka, a natural freshwater spring. Visitors can drink pure spring water straight from the source or purchase bottled Paradise Pure to take home.

Elevated Rainforest Treetops Walkway

Hidden six metres above the forest floor, the Rainforest Treetops Walkway offers a magical perspective of towering native trees and lush bush. This elevated path is a peaceful, immersive experience suitable for all ages.

The Pride of Paradise: Daily Lion Feeding

Paradise Valley Springs is home to a magnificent African lion pride, one of the park’s most iconic attractions. Visitors can get remarkably close to these powerful animals and watch the daily lion feeding at 2:30 pm — a must‑see event.

Important update: Lion cub patting is no longer offered, as the youngest cubs are now too old for visitor interaction.

Paradise Valley Springs is open every day of the year, including public holidays, from 8:00 am until dark, with last entry at 5:00 pm.
