Perfect for those with limited time, the Fox Trot Half-Day Walk offers an unforgettable eco-adventure on the stunning Fox Glacier. This guided experience is full of variety, natural beauty, and geological wonder.

The Journey Begins

Your adventure starts with being outfitted in sturdy leather boots and all necessary glacier gear. After a brief safety briefing, you’ll board our vehicle for a short drive through the lush West Coast rainforest into the spectacular glacial valley—an awe-inspiring landscape sculpted by ancient ice flows during the last Ice Ages.

Reaching the Ice

Led by an experienced guide, you’ll follow a track along the riverbed to the glacier terminus, then hike uphill for approximately 30 minutes to reach the ice edge. Here, your guide will fit you with instep crampons, specially designed for these unique ice conditions.

Fox Trot Guided Walk – Exploring the Glacier

You’ll spend at least one hour on the glacier, walking safely through a maze of crevasses, ice ridges, and frozen formations. Your guide will carve a path using specially cut ice steps and share fascinating insights into the glacier’s history, movement, and surrounding environment.
