Halfling Marathon Registrations: open at 11:00 a.m. NZST on Wednesday, 5 August 2026.
Location: Starting and finishing near The Shire’s Rest, 501 Buckland Road, Hinuera, New Zealand
Courses:
- Halfling Marathon: 21.1 km run or walk
- Eleventy-first: 11.1 km run or walk
Start Times:
- Halfling Marathon Run: 2:10 pm
- Halfling Marathon Walk: 2:20 pm
- Eleventy-first Run: 3:10 pm
- Eleventy-first Walk: 3:20 pm
A Journey Through Middle-earth
Participants will traverse a diverse landscape that brings the magic of Tolkien’s world to life. The carefully designed course includes:

Early check-in is scheduled for Friday, 19 March 2027, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Avoid the Saturday rush by picking up your race packets early at The Hub, located at the back of The Shire’s Rest carpark.
