A free day to explore Lake Taupō however you like. Jet boating, sailing, or a skydive from 15,000 feet are all on offer. For those keen to hike, this is also the day to tackle the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, one of the world’s best one-day walks.

Continue to Waitomo, a town better known for what lies beneath it. Explore the area’s glowworm caves by boat, or add on an abseiling and rafting adventure through the underground caverns. Afterward, continue to the laid-back surf town of Raglan for a well-earned beer on the beach.
