24 Day New Zealand Budget Tour: Complete Small Group Experience
New Zealand - Both Islands Small Group Tour 24 days Auckland Christchurch Inquiry & Booking

24 Day New Zealand Tour | Hostel Accommodation | 24 Tasty Breakfasts | Rotorua, Milford Sound & Franz Josef | Tours designed for travelers aged 18 and over

This 24 day New Zealand tour is our longest and most complete route. It starts in Auckland and ends in Christchurch. Along the way it covers nearly every major highlight on both islands. The North Island leg takes in Cathedral Cove, the Waitomo caves, Hobbiton, Rotorua’s geothermal culture, and Lake Taupo. It continues through River Valley and Wellington before a ferry crossing into the South Island. From there, the route runs through Kaikōura, Christchurch, Lake Tekapo, Aoraki Mt Cook, Queenstown, and Milford Sound. It finishes through Wanaka, Franz Josef, Punakaiki, and Hanmer Springs.

A small group coach and a local driver-guide handle the driving. That means you can watch the scenery instead of the road. Group numbers stay small, keeping the trip social. Most nights use comfortable multi-share hostel dorms. One night includes a traditional Māori village stay near Rotorua. This mix keeps costs down while still building in a standout cultural experience.

This 24 day New Zealand tour suits travelers with the time to see the whole country properly. Want to cover just one island instead? Our 12 Day North Island Grand Loop Small Group Tour follows a similar North Island route on its own. Our 15 Day South Island Tour covers the South Island half in more depth. Prefer a winter-specific version instead? Our 19 Day New Zealand Winter Tour runs a shorter May to October crossing. Weighing this against other travel styles? See our Independent Coach vs. Escorted vs. Small Group Tour comparison.
