New Plymouth Travel Guide

Introduction
New Plymouth is once of the cities in New Zealand. It is the port on the west coast of the North Island. This city is not crowded at all; it has a population that barely adds up to 49,000. This city is just amazing; you get to enjoy the coastal view as well as the mountains. The city is home to some beautiful botanical gardens as well. If you are looking to get one with nature, New Plymouth is the place you are looking for.

Outdoor Activities
When we are on holiday, all of us look out to do something fun. Here in New Plymouth, there are tons of things to do. You just have to choose if what you want to do is in the land or water. You have activities such as walking, hiking, surfing, skiing, water skiing, canoeing, surfing, swimming, fishing, boating, cruising, diving, gliding, golf, gumboot gully- horse ridding, to choose from. Life at New Plymouth is never boring, you can try doing something new every single day. Other than outdoor adventure, there is a lot more to New Plymouth.

If you are looking for a relaxed holiday and looking more at beauty sleep and massages, don’t worry, you are still in the right place. There are plenty of spas, health clubs, and beauty salons to take care of you. After a day at the spa, you will find your skin feeling healthy and glowing. You will feel refreshed and young again.

Sightseeing
For those who are looking for excitement every day and discovering New Plymouth site by site, there are many places you just have to visit. You can begin by a trip to the Taranaki region. This region sports a fair view of green, coast and mountain. It is a lovely combination of all the three. You can either go cruising or hiking or spend the day Egmont National park.

Another great place to visit is the Egmont Eco Leisure Park. This is a pleasantly quiet setting in about 7 acre valley that is surrounded by both brook and deep forest. It is a great place to camp at. Just take your friends and family and spend a night or two here at the park. You will indeed enjoy this unique experience. The lodges here at the park are fairly reasonable.

For a more traditional and informative trip, you should go on a Samurai Village tour. You can experience the culture and customs of the traditional people on this tour. If you want to learn more about the history of this city, pay a visit to its museum. The city has many museums. The richness of this culture is on display here at the museums. The museum also sports art galleries.

If you want to enjoy a pleasant weekend by the lake and with wild life, then you definitely have to visit Lake Mangamahoe. It is one of the most popular tourist sports in the city. It is a favorite because of its amazing reflections of the Mount Taranaki.
There are many other beaches in the city that offer you all the fun water sports you can think of, so if you love water, knock your self out. Go surfing, diving, swimming, canoeing, jet skiing, whatever you would like to do!

Traveling to and in New Plymouth
The airport is only 15 minutes away from the city and is easily accessible. There taxis, cabs, shuttles etc available at the airport. There are plenty of flights available to other cities in New Zealand. Traveling within New Plymouth has been made easy by the new bus system that’s in place. And ofcourse you can always hail cabs to take you where you want to go. So fear not, travel is not a problem in this city.

Accommodation
I’m sure the next thing you might be worried about is accommodation. Let me tell you, your worries are needless. Here in this city there is ample hotels, lodges, motels etc. new Plymouth has hotels and lodges well dispersed all over the city. All you have to do is pick a hotel or lodge that suits your range and the area you would like to stay in. prices vary from seasons to the areas you choose to live in. there is always a room to suit your budget.

So we know travel and accommodation is no problem, I’m sure your wondering about food. Believe you me, that is the last thing you need to be worried about. There are innumerous amount of eat outs and restaurants here. You have a varied choice of cuisines and the food and drinks are simply delicious. There are bars and cafes here too. You take your pick and enjoy your meal and drinks.

Entertainment in New Plymouth is always being redefined. Every single event held here, only offers more fun. Every month or other month, there are concerts or shows or races. People here sure like to have a good time, if they are not rocking away or enjoying concerts, they are busy cycling on bike week or enjoying the festival of lights at the parks at night or they are celebrating WOMAD, world of music, art and dance. Here at New Plymouth there is no dearth of entertainment, you do not need to go searching for it, it is always knocking on your door. I can not think of a better place to spend my holidays than at this beautiful city. It is a perfectly delightful place for a holiday.
