Pacific Access CategoryNew Zealand is a warm and welcoming country. This country is making its mark in the world today and hence is welcoming immigrants from all over. New Zealand has a special category for those from the Pacific area. So those from Kiribati, Tonga, and Tuvalu etc are welcome to apply to New Zealand. New Zealand goes one step more to even welcome whole families of such applicants. A special provision is made for such applicants. They come under a special category, the Pacific access category. Under this category all those residing in the Pacific area can apply for residency in New Zealand.The Pacific access category works on a ballot system basis. Everyone is welcomed to take part in the ballot, however only those names that are chosen from the ballot are welcomed to go ahead and apply for residency in New Zealand. In order to take part in the ballot, one needs to fill in a registration form. Every registration form needs to be filled and given before the closing day. The registration period is a specific time set aside every year for people to send in their forms after which the ballot will be conducted. The lucky ones whose names appear in the ballot will receive a letter from the New Zealand immigration office, inviting them to apply for residency. While filing the registration form or resident form, there are certain criteria that you need to meet. If you meet all the criteria, your residency should be a walk in the park. The most important criteria is that you be a citizen of the PAC region, you be above the age of 18 or below 45 and that your name be drawn from the ballot. New Zealand really does make residency very easy for anyone from the Pacific area. All you have to do is register and apply in time and cross your fingers and hope that your name be drawn in the ballot.
