Immigration Policies
Like most countries immigration laws are very stringent when
it comes to family, particularly with the sensitive nature
of relations in the way it is defined in to days world. The
new Zealand immigration laws keeping these issues in mind
have standard which have to satisfied before the country can
accept the new entrants.
The immigration officer is the official responsible for
taking the decisions in or against the applicants. If he is
satisfied with the applicants documents and answers which
should obey the stipulated regulation laid down in the
rules, then the decision goes in the favor of the
applicant.
When it comes to the eligibility of the partners and
children for permits or visas he needs to be satisfied at
different levels. In the case of partners it is necessary
that the principle applicant and the partner are living in a
genuine and a stable relationship with the partner relied
upon for that purpose. Both have to comply with the minimum
requirement for recognition of the partnership, that the
partner support the application and the partner meets the
character requirements for partners, supporting partnership
based temporary entry applications.
To satisfy the policy that the partnership meets the
necessary requirements, the immigration officer has to be
satisfied that the couple are aged eighteen and above, and
if below then they have the support of their parents or
guardians. The partners have to have met prior to the
application being made and neither of them is a close
relative. The dependent child whose eligibility for the visa
is based upon him being dependent child of any of the non
principal applicant partner included on the application, it
also means that the child is not dependent on the principal
applicant and where the partner’s eligibility is dependent
upon their relation with the other partner.
